Terms of Service
Last updated April 20, 2026
1. Acceptance
By creating an account or using Wellknown (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
2. What Wellknown does
Wellknown matches you to journalists covering your industry, drafts personalized pitch emails referencing each reporter's recent work, and gives them to you to review and send from your own email. We do not send pitch emails on your behalf unless you explicitly opt into sending from within the product.
3. No guarantee of press coverage
We help you pitch better. We do not guarantee that any reporter will reply, that your story will be published, or that you will receive any specific media outcome. Press coverage depends on factors outside our control — the reporter's interest, timing, competing stories, and editorial decisions.
4. AI-generated drafts
Wellknown uses large language models to generate story angles and pitch drafts. You are responsible for reviewing every draft before you send it. We make no guarantee of accuracy, appropriateness, or fitness for purpose. You retain full editorial control — nothing is sent without your explicit approval.
You are responsible for ensuring the content you send complies with applicable anti-spam laws (including CAN-SPAM in the US and PECR / GDPR in the EU/UK) and the content policies of your email provider.
5. Your account and content
You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for any activity under your account. You retain ownership of the content you provide (your company data, story information, approved pitches). By using the Service, you grant us the limited, non-exclusive license needed to process that content on your behalf.
Don't use Wellknown to send spam, harass journalists, impersonate someone else, or violate any law. We reserve the right to suspend accounts that do.
6. Plans, billing, and cancellation
Paid plans renew automatically on a monthly or annual cycle, depending on what you selected at checkout. Billing is handled by Stripe. You can change your plan, update your payment method, or cancel anytime from the billing page.
Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period. Fees already paid are non-refundable except where required by law. We may change pricing with at least 30 days' notice before your next renewal.
7. Intellectual property
Wellknown, its design, code, and internal reporter database are our intellectual property. You may not scrape, resell, or redistribute the reporter database outside the Service.
8. Warranties and liability
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. WE DISCLAIM IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (a) USD $100 OR (b) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM. WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES.
9. Termination
You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, abuse the Service, or create material risk for other users or reporters in our database.
10. Changes
We may update these Terms as the product evolves. When we make material changes, we'll email you and post the updated version here with a new “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from the Service will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware.
