Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Wellknown (“Wellknown,” “we,” “us”) is a press desk for founders. We match companies with journalists, podcast hosts and newsletter writers who cover them, draft short email campaigns, send them in the founder’s name once approved, and bring back the replies. This policy describes what we collect at wellknown.press, how we use it and your rights over it.

2. What we collect

• Account data: your name, email address and login credentials, handled by our auth provider (Supabase).
• Company and founder profile: your website and what we read from it, and everything you add: description, stage, location, industries, founder names, titles, LinkedIn links and the other profile fields you choose to fill.
• Campaigns and replies: the angles and emails drafted for you, which you approved, when each email was sent, and the replies and bounces that come back.
• Usage data: timestamps, plan, match and campaign counts, and which pages of the desk you use.
• Payment data: collected and stored by Stripe. We keep a Stripe customer ID and subscription status only; we never see full card numbers.

3. How we use it

• To read your website (via Firecrawl) and prefill your profile.
• To match you with contacts from our database, using your profile and their published work.
• To draft angles and emails with large language models. Prompts include your profile and the contact’s public work.
• To send approved campaigns in your name from an address we set up for you, and to receive the replies (via Resend).
• To bill paid plans (via Stripe).
• To send you service email: account verification, a welcome note, reply and bounce alerts, a daily digest and billing notices.

4. Who we share it with

Each provider below has its own privacy policy for the data we send it:

• Supabase (authentication and database)
• Vercel (hosting)
• Stripe (payments)
• Our language-model providers, reached through an inference gateway (angles and emails)
• Resend (sending campaign and service email, receiving replies)
• Firecrawl (reading your website)
• Tomba and Apollo (finding and verifying contacts’ work email addresses)

The contacts you email see what you approved: your name, the sending address and the email itself. We do not sell your data and do not share it with advertisers.

5. Cookies and tracking

We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics that follow you across other sites.

6. Your rights

You can access, correct, export or delete your data by emailing privacy@wellknown.press. Depending on where you live (for example the EU/EEA, the UK or California) you may have further rights under the GDPR, UK GDPR or CCPA, and we will honor them.

When you delete your account we permanently remove your company profile, angles, matches, campaigns and account record. Records of emails already sent may be kept for as long as we need them to handle replies, opt-outs and abuse reports. Aggregate, non-personal statistics may be retained.

7. Contact data

Our contact database is built from public sources: bylines, RSS feeds, podcast feeds and outlet staff pages. We store professional information only: name, outlet, work email and published work. If you are a journalist, host or writer and want your record removed, email privacy@wellknown.press and we will remove it within seven business days. Replying “no thanks” to any email sent through Wellknown stops that sender from following up.

8. Security

Data is encrypted in transit over HTTPS and at rest in Supabase. Access is limited to the Wellknown team members who need it to run the service.

9. Children

Wellknown is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product changes. For material changes we will email you and post the new version here with a new date.
